Sanctuary of the Tomb of Saint Elizabeth
Last Friday, 26th September 2014, the Custody of the Holy Land entrusted the administration of the Sanctuary of the Tomb of Saint Elizabeth to the Koinonia. This sanctuary borders the Sanctuary of Saint John the Baptist in the desert, which is found in the village of Even Sapir in the Judaean Desert close to Ain Karem – Jerusalem.
It is a place of prayer consisting of a number of buildings used to welcome those who desire to spend some time in the desert. This is a great gift for us as the Koinonia and a confirmation of our call to be John the Baptist.
We greatly thank the Custody, and in a particular way Father Custodian Pierbattista Pizzaballa, for their closeness to the Koinonia and their concern for our work.
